Donaldsonville baseball surpasses last season’s win total

DONALDSONVILLE – With a pair of victories over Tara and Broadmoor by a combined score of 33-2, Donaldsonville’s baseball team has surpassed last season’s win total.

The Tigers (9-5) played 25 games last season going 8-17 after a 14-game schedule in 2017 with no district play.

Against Tara, Trevon Dunn, Charles Brown and Josh Collier combined to no hit the Trojans. Dunn (three RBIs, three runs) and Brandon Williams (five RBIs, two runs) were each 4-for-4 at the plate.

The Tigers fell behind 2-0 in the first inning but scored five runs in the bottom half, six in the second, three in the third and five in the fourth.

Tim Campbell allowed just one hit against Broadmoor with four strikeouts. Williams and D.J. Gibbs were each 2-for-2 with an RBI and three runs.

Donaldsonville took a 1-0 lead in the first before posting five runs in the second and four in the fourth and fifth innings.
