Donaldsonville falls to Brusly in first round

DONALDSONVILLE – Donaldsonville High fell to Brusly 25-22 in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs Friday night at Floyd Boutte Memorial Stadium.

The eighth seeded Tigers (7-4), under coach Brian Richardson, were seeking their first playoff victory since 2017 when they defeated Union Parish 35-29.

No. 24 seed Brusly (6-5) moves on to the regionals where they will host eighth seed Marksville (9-2), a 28-21 winner over Erath in the first round.

Donaldsonville was led this year by quarterback Treveyon Brown, running backs Jaquavious Tenner, Raeland Johnson and Robert Kent, linebacker Trevon Dunn and defensive lineman Rashad Landry.
