PATTERSON – Donaldsonville High rallied from a nine-point deficit late to claim a 30-27 District 9-3A victory over Patterson Friday night at Lumberjack Stadium.
The Tigers (6-2, 2-1), under coach Brian Richardson, trailed 27-18 with just five minutes remaining but found an answer.
Donaldsonville quarterback Treyveon Brown accounted for four total touchdowns including one rushing.
Brown connected with Jamarcus Miller for a 6-yard touchdown with 2:26 remaining and then with Jaquavius Tenner for a 26-yard score a minute later to propel the Tigers.
Patterson jumped out to an early lead on a 2-yard run by Allen Langston but Donaldsonville answered on Robert Kent’s 47-yard jaunt and took the lead 12-7 on a 15-yard run by Brown to open the second half.
Brown’s 43-yard touchdown pass to De’Andre Brown put the Tigers back ahead 18-14 after Tylon Walton scored on a 20-yard run for Patterson but the Lumberjacks got two 2-yard scoring runs from Trelon Bennett to go ahead, the second following an interception.
The Tigers travel to face Lutcher (3-5, 1-2) in another district matchup Friday night at the Dog Yard.
