DONALDSONVILLE – Donaldsonville High School overcame an early deficit to run away from Broadmoor in a 35-7 non-district victory Friday night at Floyd Boutte Memorial Stadium.
The Tigers (2-1), under coach Brian Richardson, outgained Broadmoor in total yardage 519-256 with 375 of it coming on the ground.
Jaquavious Tenner rushed for three touchdowns for Donaldsonville and Robert Kent added a pair of scoring runs.
Broadmoor (0-3) took the early lead on Gregory Parker’s 12-yard run and Eric Sanchez’ point after touchdown kick but it was all Donaldsonville after that.
Kent scored on a 5-yard run in the first quarter and a 13-yard burst in the second quarter converting a two-point conversion in the process to give the Tigers a 14-7 halftime lead.
Tenner then scored on a 2-yard run in the third quarter and on runs of 3 and 9 yards in the fourth. Quarterback Trevyeon Brown threw to Malik Roberton on one conversion and Markele Fisher added an extra point to reflect the final tally.
Donaldsonville hosts westbank River Road rival White Castle (2-1) Friday night in Week 4.
