Donaldsonville runs past Berwick in finale

BERWICK – Donaldsonville High rushed for 436 yards in a 42-18 District 9-3A victory over Berwick Friday night at Geisler Stadium in the regular season finale.

The Tigers (7-3, 3-2), under coach Brian Richardson, out gained Berwick in total yardage 468-306 and led 20-10 at the half. The victory gives the Tigers a three-way tie for district runners-up with Lutcher and E.D. White.

Jaquavious Tenner (29 and 10 yards) and Raeland Johnson (14 and 91 yards) each rushed for two touchdowns in the win and Robert Kent (12 yards) and Randall Otis (6 yards) both had one.

Tiger quarterback Treveyon Brown completed 3-of-6 passes for 32 yards and converted a two-point conversion to Cyle Brooks. Rashad Landry also ran in a two-point conversion.

Keyon Singleton scored twice for Berwick and Seth Canty added a 36-yard field goal.

Donaldsonville earned the No. 9 seed in the Class 3A playoffs and will host 24th seeded Brusly (5-5, 3-4) of 7-3A in the bi-district round Friday night at Floyd Boutte Memorial Stadium. The Tigers fell to St. James in the first round last season.
