LIVONIA – Livonia High snapped Donaldsonville’s three-game winning streak with a 40-18 victory Friday night in Pointe Coupee Parish.
The Fighting Tigers (3-2), under coach Brian Richardson, were held to 114 yards of total offense and turned the ball over four times in the loss. Livonia (5-0) gained 339 yards on the ground jumping out to a 26-6 halftime lead.
Tyler Milstead led the attack for the Wildcats scoring four rushing touchdowns from 16, 9, 24 and 9 yards out. Jordan Bailey’s 1-yard touchdown run put Livonia ahead early but Donaldsonville cut it to 8-6 in the first quarter on Christian Bell’s 82-yard kickoff return.
Braden Brown’s 40-yard run then put Livonia ahead for good before three straight scores by Milstead. Savon Landry returned a fumble for a touchdown for Donaldsonville to cut it to 33-12 but Milstead added another score before Treyveon Brown’s 28-yard pass to Devante LeBlanc reflected the final tally.
The Tigers look to rebound Friday night traveling to St. James (3-2) for their District 6-3A opener. The Wildcats won 26-22 last season.
