EA 35, ST. AMANT 6: In Gonzales, Kyle Babin scores two touchdowns while Effrem Reed, T-Boy Braud and Durand Willis each add one in the Spartans win. EA’s defense, led by Johnny DeArmond and Edgar Irvin, held the Gators to 182 yards total offense. Blake Kling throws for 108 yards for St. Amant.

ST. AMANT 7, EA 6: In St. Amant, the SAHS defense stops Vincent Lewis on a two-point conversation attempt after Bobby Buyas recovers a Gator fumble in the end zone. St. Amant scores on a Marvin Coleman 2-yard TD run with Roy Carubba’s extra-point kick the difference. EA totals 196 yards total offense to the Gators 108 yards.

EA 28, ST. AMANT 12: In St. Amant, Robert Williams rushes for 106 yards and a touchdown and Jeff Little throws for 125 yards and two scores in the EA win. Little also adds a rushing TD with Peter Braud and Dwayne LeBlanc catching touchdown passes. Brady Babin rambles 48-yards for a score while Wesley Blank adds the final TD for the Gators.

EA 7, ST. AMANT 6: In Gonzales, Melvin Lewis scores on a 50-yard touchdown run and Wade Petite kicks the extra-point with 15 seconds left in the third quarter. The Gators score on Darryl Coleman’s 1-yard run in the fourth quarter. EA’s Jeff Nickens intercepts the two-point conversation pass to preserve the Spartan victory.

EA 33, ST. AMANT 6: In St. Amant, the Spartan defense leads the way as the playoff-bound Gators are held to 1 first down and a minus 10 yards of offense. EA blocks a punt for a score and Tim Thompson rushes for 171 yards and 3 touchdowns. Gregg Patterson passes for 49 yards and runs for a TD on a rainy Friday night.

EA 35, ST. AMANT 26: In Gonzales, Kyle Juneau passes for 124 yards and 3 touchdowns while Eddie Lomas rushes for 119 yards and a touchdown for East Ascension. Andrew Glover catches 2 TD passes in the EA win. St. Amant out-gains the Spartans 379 to 274 yards. Barry Wilson leads the Gators with 146 yards rushing and Joel Lavigne adds 105 yards.

EA 16, ST. AMANT 15: In Gonzales, quarterback Jody Fife scores the winning touchdown on a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter. Ricky Devertieul and Earl Gaddis lead the Gators on offense while George Davis and Victor Darville are the offensive leaders for the Spartans. The victory is the sixth straight in the series for Coach Van Lambert and the Spartans between the two parish rivals.

ST. AMANT 32, EA 28: In St. Amant, junior quarterback Danny Willis throws for 190 yards and 3 touchdowns and adds 46 yards rushing and 2 TD’s in the Gators victory. Jody Fife leads EA, throwing for 182 yards and 2 touchdowns and runs for another. The win is the first for the Gators since 1980.

ST. AMANT 20, EA 6: In Gonzales, in Van Lambert’s final game as East Ascension coach, Danny Willis leads the Gators to victory with 2 touchdown passes and runs for another. Brady Edmonston catches both TD passes. EA’s only score is a Heath Whittington interception returned 52-yards for a touchdown. Shaft Graves paces St. Amant’s ground attack with 141 yards. EA’s Scotty Stafford throws for 91 yards in a losing effort.

ST. AMANT 56, EA 35: In St. Amant, junior quarterback Jason Williams puts on a highlight-reel performance as he accounts for 366 yards of total offense and 7 touchdowns (4 rushing and 3 passing) in the Gators 21-point victory. Spartan QB Scotty Stafford also has a record-setting night passing for 453 yards (school record) and 3 touchdowns. The 91 total points scored is a series record.

EA 42, ST. AMANT 41 (OT): In Gonzales, the first overtime game in the rivalry comes down to Reggie Wheat’s extra point kick in OT being the difference. Offensive standouts are plenty with Tim Delmore rushing for 215 yards and 3 touchdowns while Wheat adds 166 yards passing to go with 3 TD passes and 6 PAT’s. The Gators are led by senior signal-caller Jason Williams with 120 yards passing and 3 touchdowns (10 career TD’s against EA). Neff Villnurve chips in with 174 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns for St. Amant.

EA 34, ST. AMANT 20: In St. Amant, seniors Tim Delmore and Reggie Wheat combine for 282 yards of offense in the Spartans win. Delmore runs for 3 scores and catches a TD pass. Wheat completes 9 of 13 passes for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns. Darryl York leads the Gators with 98 rushing yards and 2 TD’s. York also passes for 75 yards.

EA 27, ST. AMANT 14: In Gonzales, the Gators turn the ball over five times as EA picks up their tenth win in the series. St. Amant out-gains EA 335 to 306 but turnovers are the difference. EA’s Jermaine West leads all rushers with 138 yards on 24 carries. Darryl York has 131 yards on the ground for St. Amant. EA’s Brian Robert passes for 148 yards and 2 scores.

ST. AMANT 28, EA 7: In St. Amant, Larry Stewart leads the Gators high-powered offense to victory and a number one district seed for the state playoffs. Stewart accounts for 239 yards total offense, including a rushing and a passing TD. The Gators out-gain the Spartans 390 yards to 196. EA’s Blake Prejean passes for 153 yards.

ST. AMANT 35, EA 21: In Gonzales, for the second year in a row, Larry Stewart is the difference as the throws for 3 touchdowns and runs for another for the Gators. Stewart finishes 5 of 6 for 134 yards. Included in his 96 yards rushing is an 82-yard TD run. The Spartans out-gain the Gators 352 to 277 mainly on the strength of Blake Prejean’s 315 yards passing.

ST. AMANT 28, EA 0: In Gonzales, for the first time in the series there is a shutout. The St. Amant defense led by Quinton Melancon and Christian Bourgeois hold EA to 168 total yards. Toby Schexnayder leads the way for the Gators with 150 rushing yards as St. Amant runs up 416 yards on the Spartan defense. This game ends the season for both teams, as for the first time since 1980, neither team advances into the state playoffs.

EA 35, ST. AMANT 31: In St. Amant, the Spartans rally with a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns to record the come-from-behind victory. EA quarterback John Mayers hooks up with Gregg Rosenwald for 3 TD’s and Jermaine Miles’ 42-yard TD run in the fourth quarter leads the Spartan offense. Jason LeBlanc’s 247 yards rushing (most rushing yards in a game in the series) and Jake Lambert’s 2 TD runs pace the Gators.

ST. AMANT 13, EA 7: In Gonzales, in Coach Doug Moreau’s final game against EA, the Gators win for the seventh time in his 13 seasons. St. Amant has 269 yards offense in the game with Eddrick Brown leading the way with 96 yards on 11 attempts. The Spartans finish with 157 yards of offense. Cody Coulon and David Davis score the St. Amant TD’s. John Mayers passes to Jermaine Miles for the EA score.

Colby Castille recovers a Spartan fumbled punt that leads to the winning score. EA’s offense is paced by Ryan Zimmerle’s 181 yards rushing. St. Amant’s Brian Babin passes for 159 yards and 1 TD.

ST. AMANT 30, EA 10: In Gonzales, for the first time in the series the teams meet in week one of the season. St. Amant rides the right arm of quarterback Brian Babin to victory. Babin passes for 264 yards on 12 completitions with 4 touchdown passes, including two to wide receiver Jake Savoy. Reid Brignac had four catches for 62 yards for the Gators. The Spartan defense intercepts Babin three times.

ST. AMANT 28, EA 23: In St. Amant, the Gators make it three wins in a row with an exciting finish that concludes the twenty-sixth meeting between the two schools. P J Brown leads the Gators with 137 yards rushing and 2 scores. Luther Nash finishes with 98 yards receiving, including a 34-yard TD pass. Ty Lewis turns in an outstanding effort for the Spartans, rushing for 230 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Trick plays help the Spartans to victory as Bryce Chaisson hits Jamar Ealy with a TD pass on a fake field goal attempt and wide receiver Frank Lanasa finds Ealy with another touchdown pass.

ST. AMANT 38, EA 21: In Gonzales, the Gators opened up a 38-7 lead before EA scores two late touchdowns. Josh Jordan throws for 115 yards for the Gators connecting on 12 of 15 passing with 3 TD’s. Charles West rushes for 147 yards and 2 touchdowns. Robert Williams leads the Spartans with 147 yards and 2 scores. The game is the last for Coach David Swacker as the St. Amant head coach in the series. The Gators finish 7-2 against East Ascension during his tenure.

EA 13, ST. AMANT 7: In St. Amant, in a hard-fought battle between two teams searching for a win, both teams score second quarter touchdowns. Quarterback Jaylin LeBlanc scores on a 17-yard run for the Gators and the Spartans’ Marcus Bailey answers with an 11-yard run. The game remains tied into the fourth quarter when EA quarterback Emerson Foster hooks up with Matt Richard on a 65-yard scoring pass. Q’Dareus Lomas leads the Spartan defense with double-digit tackles in the game.

EA 34, ST. AMANT 27: In Gonzales, senior Avery Williams rushes for 173 yards and two touchdowns for the Spartans in the 30th meeting between the schools. Sophomore Tyler Guillory passes for a season-high 125 yards and Tre’ Vaughn scores on a 73-yard run to pace the Gators. Justin Manton adds field goals from 32 and 48-yards for the visitors. The win was the first for EA over St. Amant at Spartan Stadium since 2001 when the Spartans won in overtime by the same 34-27 score.

ST. AMANT 45, EA 17: In St. Amant, wearing orange jerseys for the first time in school history the Gators roll to an impressive win. St. Amant pulled away with a 24-point ambush in the second quarter to lead 31-3 at halftime. Senior quarterback Jaylin LeBlanc, who ran for 163 yards and two touchdowns, paced St. Amant in picking up their first district win since 2007. EA quarterback Deandrus Ennis connected on a 17-yard TD strike to Randall Williams.

EA 10, ST. AMANT 7 (OT): In St. Amant, Mason Decoteau’s 30-yard field goal in overtime is the difference. The 17 combined points is the second lowest point total in the series. Sophomore running back Sione Palelei paced the Spartans with 92 rushing yards, including a 9-yard TD run. Tyler Guillory led the Gators with 109 total yards. Cameron Morris scores the St. Amant TD on a 3-yard run.

ST. AMANT 15, EA 10: In Gonzales, the Gators turned back the Spartans four times from inside the 10 in the final minute to help secure their first state playoff berth since 2005. Adam Bosworth’s 25-yard field goal gave the Spartans a 3-0 lead and TJ Miles’ 14-yard run put the home team up 10-0. St. Amant scored on Cody Raffray’s 1-yard run and took the lead on a 7-yard run by Kirk Elisar.  EA’s Layne Trahan passed for 167 yards and for the third year in a row the Gators wear orange jerseys and for the first time also wear orange pants.

EA 21, ST. AMANT 19: In Gonzales, the Spartans survived a missed 30-yard field goal attempt with 47 seconds remaining to escape with the win before an overflow crowd. Chad Hill scored all three EA touchdowns, two receiving and one rushing. Layne Trahan passed for 156 yards, two touchdowns and one interception for EA. Tyler Dixon threw for 198 yards and three TDs for the Gators. For the first time in the series the Gators wear white jerseys with orange numbers and also wear orange pants for the second straight year.

ST. AMANT 57, EA 34: In St. Amant, playing on Halloween night for the first time in the series, the Gators rolled up 530 yards of offense led by Nathan Taylor who rushed for 158 yards and two TD’s. Tyler Dixon passed for 131 yards and two TD’s and also scored on a 1-yard run for the Gators. Junior quarterback Kyran Irvin led EA with four rushing TD’s. St. Amant dressed out in all orange uniforms for the second time in the series. The 57-point explosion by St Amant set a record for most points scored by one team in this series.

EA 31, ST. AMANT 10: In Gonzales, the Spartans parlayed a stingy defense and Kyran Irvin’s three rushing touchdowns in the second half before a standing room only crowd. Irvin gained 110 yards and had TD runs of 21, 22 and 6-yards. He failed to complete a pass in 13 attempts and was intercepted twice. Jacquel Jacobs scored on the first play of the game on a 35-yard interception return. St. Amant’s only score came on Hayden Mallory’s 16-yard TD pass to Larson Fontenot. Mallory finished 15-of-31 for 115 yards and four interceptions, three by Jacobs.

ST. AMANT 54, EA 6: In St. Amant, Hayden Mallory and Cade Nelson combined for five touchdowns as the Gators won the most lopsided game in the rivalry with 48 unanswered points. Mallory completed 12-of-18 passes and three touchdowns while Nelson rushed for 93 yards, two touchdowns and a 9-yard TD reception. St. Amant’s Briggs Bourgeois caught a touchdown pass, kicked a field goal and had eight touchbacks on kickoffs. The Gators also scored a defensive touchdown, had two interceptions and blocked two punts.East Ascension’s only score came on Cameron Schexnaydre’s 48-yard TD pass to Keenen Dunn.

ST. AMANT 22, EA 10: In St. Amant, Cade Nelson rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns while quarterback Halen Miller passed for 123 yards as the Gators clinched a share of the district title with the Spartans. Trailing 10-7 at the half, Nelson and Miller each scored second half touchdowns and Reed Babin’s interception helped preserve the win for the orange-clad home team. Jason Wakefield connected with Shaivonn Robinson on a 16-yard touchdown pass in the first half and Ryan Gremillion added a 37-yard field goal for the EA points.

EA 20, ST. AMANT 13: In Gonzales, the Spartans rallied for 10 fourth-quarter points in snapping the Gators two-game winning streak in the series. EA touchdowns came on Jaqunn Mitchell’s 59-yard punt return and Jason Wakefield’s 5-yard touchdown pass to Damon McDonald. Wakefield was 18 of 35 for 206 yards and a touchdown. Alberto Ontiveros made field goals of 35 and 25-yards for the Spartans. The Gators quarterback duo of Lathan Bourgeois and Kaleb Thompson combined to complete 16 of 28 passes for 137 yards. Bourgeois scored on a 5-yard run and Thompson connected with Austin Bascom on a 28-yard touchdown pass.  St. Amant’s K.J. Franklin was held to 42 yards rushing.
