SCOTT – Walker High fell behind and never recovered falling to top seed Acadiana 49-0 in a Class 5A regional playoff game Friday night at Bill Dotson Stadium.
The 16th seeded Wildcats (8-4), under first-year coach Chad Mahaffey, won their first playoff game since 1999 last week but surrendered over 500 yards to the Wreckin’ Rams (12-0) while being held to under 200.
Acadiana’s Dillian Monette broke former LSU star Alley Broussard’s career rushing record at the school with 253 yards including a 67-yard scoring run to put the Rams ahead in the first quarter.
Monette added a 57-yard touchdown run and broke the record on a 46-yard carry. Acadiana also got a pair of touchdowns from Keontae Williams and Tyvin Zeno and single scores from Lucky Brooks and O’miri Wiggins.
The Rams will host eighth seed Airline, a 45-29 winner over East St. John, in the quarterfinals.
