ZACHARY – Zachary High stopped a two-point conversion attempt in the final minute to preserve a 35-33 victory and the District 4-5A championship over Walker Friday night at Bronco Stadium.

Walker (7-3, 4-1), under coach Chad Mahaffey, scored with 57 seconds remaining on a 15-yard screen pass from quarterback Ethan McMasters to running back Keondre Brown who finished with four total touchdowns.

Brian Thomas Jr. blocked a field goal attempt by Zachary a minute earlier and hauled in 38-yard reception to set up the score but the pass intended for the senior wide receiver on the conversion was knocked down. McMasters completed 15-of-23 passes for 216 yards.

Quarterback Keilon Brown led the Broncos (7-2, 5-0) with 199 total yards and a pair of touchdowns while R.J. Allen scored three times rushing for 164 yards on 22 attempts.

Walker earned the No. 16 seed in the Class 5A playoffs and will host 17th seeded Thibodaux (7-3, 3-3) of 7-5A in the first round Friday night at Wildcat Stadium.
